Semarang, August 15, 2026 – The Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences at Diponegoro University (FPP UNDIP) conducted a matriculation program for new students of the Master’s Program in Animal Science for the 2026/2027 academic year. The program spanned five days, from August 10 to August 14, 2026, and was held in a hybrid format combining in-person sessions at the FPP UNDIP campus with online learning.
This matriculation program served as a strategic initiative to refresh fundamental scientific knowledge and align the academic backgrounds of the new students. Given that the participants came from various universities across Indonesia with diverse prior curricula, establishing a shared understanding was crucial before the students began their research-oriented master’s studies.
Throughout the program, students received instruction covering five core areas of animal science: Statistics, Genetics and Livestock Breeding, General Animal Science, Nutrition and Feed Science, and Laboratory Techniques and Instrumentation.
The team of instructors comprises experts and professors from FPP UNDIP who are highly competent in their respective fields. In the area of Statistics, instruction on data analysis and research methodology is provided by Prof. Dr. Ir. Syaiful Anwar, M.S., alongside Ir. Rudy Hartanto, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM. Meanwhile, the field of Genetics and Livestock Breeding—covering topics ranging from population genetics to molecular biotechnology—is taught by Asep Setiaji, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D., and Dr. Dela Ayu Lestari, S.Pt., M.Si.
Instruction in General Animal Science is led by Prof. Ir. Vitus Dwi Yunianto, MS., MSc., Ph.D., IPU., and Prof. Ir. Agung Purnomoadi, M.Sc., Ph.D. In the field of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, students receive training on subjects ranging from digestive physiology to feed technology from Prof. Dr. Ir. Anis Muktiani, M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Istna Mangisah, S.Pt., M.P. Additionally, the field of Laboratory Techniques and Instrumentation is taught by Prof. Ir. Bambang Sulistiyanto, M.AgrSc., Ph.D., IPU., and Dr. Ir. Marry Christiyanto, M.P., IPM., to ensure students are well-prepared for laboratory-based research.
This matriculation program marks the beginning of the academic journey for new students in the Master of Animal Science program at FPP UNDIP. Through this comprehensive preparation, students are expected to attain a solid and consistent level of academic readiness to undertake the full series of courses in the upcoming semester.
